Release From Detention

There are several ways that a person can be released from immigration detention:

  • release on bond granted by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement or an Immigration Judge
  • parole granted by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and available to the arriving aliens seeking to be admitted to the U.S. at a port-of-entry
  • termination of immigration proceedings
  • release on order of supervision available to persons who have already been ordered removed from the U.S. but cannot be deported for one reason or another
